Virtual - North Carolina
In-person at the Birmingham, Alabama office.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina, . I received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1999. I earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
My training involves individual, family, child, and marriage/couple high conflict relationship counseling. Faith-based counseling is an option for those who find value in their faith.
I am trained in utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, and DBT(Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). With couples, I explore communication styles, conflict resolution patterns, and cycles, and discover new ways of active listening while meeting needs and aligning values. Working alongside a Psychiatrist has provided invaluable experience from different views of behavioral health allowing a wider scope of treatment possibilities to assist us while navigating through your challenges.
In locating the root of the issue, I believe a holistic journey of healing from the inside out will provide a lasting, happy, and fulfilling life.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina, American Association of Christian Counselors, and North Carolina Counseling Association.

In sessions, I bring warmth, curiosity and a calm presence. You can expect a space where your emotions are welcomed, your strengths are highlighted, and your goals shape the work we do together. Whether you prefer a faith-based approach or a more traditional therapeutic style, I tailor our session to what is most meaningful to you.
Above all, am committed to learning what brings you joy, and if it feels out of reach right now, we'll work together to rediscover it.

CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH INTERN
My name is Stephanie Bass. I am a graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently completing my master’s degree at Liberty University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Relations from East Carolina University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a private practice setting.
I am passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, grief, relationship concerns, emotional regulation, and difficult life transitions. I recognize that reaching out for counseling can feel overwhelming, and I strive to provide a compassionate environment where clients feel understood and comfortable being themselves.
In counseling, I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I believe counseling is most effective when it is collaborative, so I work alongside clients to gain insight into thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be holding them back, build practical coping skills, and strengthen their ability to cope with difficult emotions and experiences.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator, and I completed Psychological First Aid certification in 2026.
